L'Ardita
The eighth edition of L'Ardita, the Alpe di Poti historical cycling event, will take place in Arezzo on March 22, 23, and 24, 2024, starting and finishing in Piazza Grande, the heart of the city's historic center.
The location, "Piazza Grande" which is the most beautiful square in the city, was chosen with the intention of highlighting the importance of promoting Arezzo's historic center. The program aims to provide an opportunity for participants and their families to visit the city.
Enthusiasts will have the opportunity to see some fine examples of bikes and spare parts from yesteryear while it will also be possible to visit stands where local bike shops will present the latest bikes and cycling equipment available in 2022.
At the heart of the festival is the “L'Ardita” a vintage bike event which takes place on Sunday 24 March 2024 and gives vintage bike enthusiasts the opportunity to take on the famous Aretine climb of Alpe di Poti which featured in last year’s edition of the Giro d’Italia 2016 as well as other important races down through the years.
The 2024 edition of the L’Ardita, together with the classic Alpe di Poti route, will also offer other two route called the Gourmet and Classic ride which offers the less experienced rider the possibility to experience the charm of a vintage bike event for the first time. Featuring rolling terrain and without any major climbs this route will give the vintage cyclist the opportunity to discover the classic Tuscan beauty of Arezzo and its nearby villages as well as the chance to savor some fine food and wine of this beautiful part of Tuscany. As of this year this ride will be part of a series of events for bike tourists promoted by the Historic Bikes Register “Il Registro Storico Cicli”.
Beautiful landscapes, great foods and lots of fun.
